Product Reviews and Questions
outstanding
The tarp's strengths and advantages weren't apparent to me at first...and then I took it into the remote cloud forest of Central America a few weeks ago, and it rained. Not only was it easy to put up and tighten, but it is a very strong material and let through more light than I was expecting. I enjoyed seeing all the attachment points across the tarp surface for added tightening points and water runoff. It also easily folds up to about the size of a freeze dried meal for 2, and weighs about the same.
The only problems I see with it are rather small and those that I can fix on my own fairly easily. One is that all the ropes are all the same color despite being a couple of different lengths. It would make it easier to set up if they made them a slightly different color, like a different shade of blue for each length. Also these ropes were cut very quickly with a hot knife and the ends didn't seal well for every rope segment. When I was quickly setting it up and inserting the ropes through the plastic cinch fittings, the sheath exposed on a couple of them and made it difficult to feed through the cinches. On the flip-side, there are plenty of cords provided so I was able to quickly grab another one to use instead. It is on my to-do list to reheat the tips and shape them so they seal and feed better. Overall, it is a solid product with the strongest material I've ever seen, and I would trust it in any conditions.
5 Stars
Amazingly light and super durable. I dropped 4 pounds of weight upgrading to this incredible piece of gear! The reinforced guide out points are sewn well.
Review of a flat tarp.
It was flat though it came folded up. It is a trap. It is the dimensions I ordered. It fits all the specifications as provided. It is the color I ordered. It seems like it will work. Thanks.
Well worth the expense!
For those who think this gear is too expensive I offer this thought. None of us are getting younger and stronger. In my case, I'll be 68 in a few months. My former silnylon tarp weighed in at 1.5 lbs. This tarp weighs about .5 lbs.
The tieouts on this tarp boggle the mind. This is tarp perfection. I have yet to pitch it, but it's going on every day hike and backpacking trip I take.
Great Piece of Gear
I mean, it’s a tarp. But, it’s light enough to never not take on every adventure or mission. Uses are endless.
